swimming pool we did some lessons kicking and

floating on our backs. I did some circles around the pool it

was fun . Water was warm and blue we had some challenges of going fast to the end of the pool.I splashed water everywhere popped my head under the water to touch the bottom.My arms and legs was sore going across the water doing freestyle and kicking.l had a cool time at swimming with Jillian we had free time then it was time to get out.l climbed  up the steps to grab my towel and  go change in the tent. I had a great times  because we got out of the pools and get our uonafoms  reding because we need to go to play at the swimming pool again

and we have a  Free Times  together  and all the boys have make a amicsesoks together .  because . We need to Do  something  is going

good together

Film Festival

On Wednesday 13 November, 2013, all the students and teachers at St Pius X Catholic School went to the Manaiakalani Cluster Film Festival at Sylvia Park Hoyts, on the bus.  When we got there we went into the theatre to watch our classes movies and the other schools movies.  We didn’t watch all of the classroom movies because some were cut short, maybe because classes did not edit their work properly.  

My favourite movie was the lockdown. It was cool because they were teaching us about what to do in a lockdown at our schools.

Squash

After morning tea we went to the hall as part of our fitness.  When we got there we learnt about the game, Squash.   We listened to Michael and Phil teach us the rules and they showed us how to play Squash.  When they finished talking to us, we got into groups and we started practicing, flips with the ball on the racket like a pancake and other ball skill games.

There were two balls one was yellow and one was black. They were both  little bouncy balls.  The rackets were smaller than tennis rackets.   I liked learning how to play squash.  I had to run fast to hit the ball.  Michael and Phil were really nice and I liked them because they were kind to us.  And said will play Manu. And you needs to do your beast and hard  And good For our fitness.

Duffy Assembly

 On the Duffy assembly we were laughing together because they were doing some reading.

They were learning Reading and writing speeches. One day Duffy went to school and his teachers name was Miss Arthur.

When we finished The Duffy assembly they gave out the books to us.

The Dutty assembly was cool and we learnt lots about Reading . I learnt that I need to focus on my Reading and learn my words.  

Kids for kids Concert

On the evening of the Kids for Kids Concert we were hungry because I had only had a small meal before I left for the Life Convention Centre.

There were crazy children back stage because they were so happy and excited. I was singing the songs together with all the other schools. I was nervous and scared because audience were all looking at me.

Jackie Clark  and Nathan King sang with us on the hot stage in Mangere. We ate Chocolate and biscuits and we played games like Monkey barrel and knuckle bones at Half Time.

I felt  good at Life Convention Centre and everyone liked me because they loved my singing. All our families went out, Mr Coakley took me and my sister home at the end.

St Pius X Feast Day

On Friday 23th of August the whole school

went to Church to celebrate St Pius X feast day.

We went to the hall to eat the cake together

with the teachers. Mrs Tui cut the cake and

the whole school sang Happy birthday.

Kids 4 Kids Rehearsal

 On Friday we went to the kids for kids and our teacher took us to the Life Convention Centre in Mangere. We were singing and all the schools were singing the songs too. Nathan King and Jackie Clark sang with us. Everyone had to learn the songs by heart.   

Filming Reflection

The topic of our movie is Success. We acted out in our movie.  We worked out the different jobs for everyone like the camera person, the actors and the Director.  We then created a storyboard and then filmed our movie.  We filmed outside on the field. Our movie is cool.

Rugby League Reflection

At rugby league training we did foot work and after that I did running. The coach said if you didn’t eat breakfast then you need to do 10 star jumps. We did some passing and walking. I like the coach his name is Cuma and he is a Junior Warrior. He make us very happy.

Maths Reflection

On Maths whizz I learn fractions. I learn to make proper fractions and improper fractions. I’m good at maths and I am on stage 3 and in Triangles for our fractions work.

St Pius X Feast Day

On Friday 23th of August the whole school went to Church for celebrating  St Pius X feast day.
We went to the hall to eat the cake together with the teachers. Mrs Tui cut the cake and the whole school sang Happy birthday for St Pius. The cake was yummy I had 3 pieces to eat then I went to
play. After lunch we went to the tennis court we watched the basketball game. Kiwi’s and Tui’s played it was exciting. It was fun to have St pius x feast day was so cool because it was fun and it make me happy.

On the 21st August it is the feast day for St Pius X . St Pius is the priest who is celebrating we celebrate today.

St pius  was born in Riese, Italy. He died On August 20th 1914.

Cross Cunotry

On Tuesday it was fun because I ran around the streets for Cross Country.  I felt good because it was so cool I made

it power walking down the street.

I saw the St Mary’s girls with the flags helping me run across the road. I got to jog fast down the hill getting hot and sweaty.

I went to the tennis courts all the senior children were watching the juniors. And we had fun.

We Celebrate the Assumption of Mary. Her heavenly birthday is on 15th August. She  was taken to heaven. Pope Pius said it was true that Mary’s body went to Heaven. Mary is Queen of Heaven. A Holy Day of Obligation means we must go to church.

Amelia's Baby Brother

The baby was happy when everyone came to visit. The people were happy  because the baby was so cute.

The baby was crying and making a big noise. One Day Amelia got his baby food for him so he would stop crying and he did.  He started crying again and so Amelia said to her mum to change the nappy.  The baby brother started crying again so they put him to sleep.  It’s hard work looking after a baby.

Term 2

My Favourite thing about Term 2 that we play  was some cool games together. We worked together making a cookie protector. Everyday we need to do some work.

My least favourite thing from the term was the work was a bit boring.

What I am looking forward to next term is playing rugby league.

My Teacher went to Austaralia

On Tuesday Mrs G left to go to Australia together with Mrs Tui.  We stayed with Mrs  Denney because we needed to finish our work.  We had lots of fun with Mrs Denney. We got to do some work together for our Maths, Reading and Writing. 
The schools in Australia have Learning Neighbourhoods instead of classrooms. The rooms in Australia were massive.
I got a koala from Miss G when she got back.

Catholic school

On Catholic School’s Day St Joseph’s came to our school on a bus and then after that we went to the church and sang along with the mass. We all went and ate our lunch together, Room 2 from St Joseph’s was with our class. We played together too.

After that St Joseph’s came with us to the hall. St Joseph’s sang a song and St Pius sang too. Room 3 did the cup song, it was cool and fun.

After that st Joseph’s went back to the bus again and and went back to their own classes. We had a great day.

Maths Reflection

In maths I find it easy because the numbers can be doubled together.  I like to use Maths Whizz because it is fun, I learn my maths on my computer.  I am getting faster at adding numbers together using Xtra Maths.  I am in Super Squares and we are learning to use tidy numbers to add with. For Addition and Subtraction I am at Stage 3.

You can look after  a rat by giving him food and make him nice food. They like to eat birdseed and apples.  You need to make him a bed to sleep in and a place to run around.  
Rats like to come out at night so he needs somewhere to play.

Silly Story

I said to my mum and my dad “can I go to the car?” I told a lie because it was so funny. I went to the library and I said to the Gingerbread man to come to the     library with me. Gingerbread man read a book because it was cool to read.      

Gingerbread man and me found a book called ‘Lego City’ and inside the book was a Treasure. The treasure was lots of gold and money.

We took out some of the gold and money and let it shine in the sun.  We decided that it wasn’t ours to keep so we put it back inside the book and choose another book to read.
